Written by: Dr. Allison Wainer, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Research Director of the Autism Assessment, Research, Treatment, and Services (AARTS) Center at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Wainer received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Michigan State and completed her clinical internship at the University of Colorado. Dr. Wainer’s background is in developing and evaluating behavioral interventions and service delivery models for young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Dr. Wainer is an Early Intervention and Parent Coaching trainer and consultant, and for the last eight years she has worked with academic and community-based centers, both nationally and internationally, to implement early intervention for ASD programs in a variety of formats and service delivery settings.
